The bag rocks, pure and simple! Can’t and shouldn’t carry a lot besides essentials. Great for trips to store or the beach or just out and about pick stuff up. If I need more carry room I stuff a daypack inside.
Seriously - awesome bag! Great work Tern!!
Much easier than bungee cording my bag to the rear bike rack. Capacity is what it is; it is not huge but is sufficient to my needs and is the right shape (taller than many of the other little bags I’ve seen).
This should have been a great bag. And it was until the front zip failed within the first 12 months.
Tern said it wasn’t covered in their parts policy. A specialist rucksack repair firm couldn’t help.nor could a local tailor.
So i’m All out of luck. Slot of money for a short lived bag and even shorter care from Tern.
This is a nice bag, unfortunately the underside clip failed on the first use. Have been waiting 6 days so far for response from Tern, but when you have a problem with a product, it appears there is no help coming. Its a VERY expensive one-use bag. MIght want to wait for mfg improvement before ordering this one.
I bought this bag with my Verge S8i last year. Love the bike, too, BTW! I especially like the fact the bag's waterproof, since it often holds my iPad that's contained in it's own shoulder bag. Here in South Florida the rain can catch you anytime. Also nice having fenders on the S8i.
The bag's quick attach/detach is amazing. Although I usually wrap the factory rack bungees across the bag top, too, only takes a second. The only trick I've never mastered is folding the opening like the online product pics show. I merely quickly fold the top over the side, making it just as waterproof.
I just ordered 2 of Tern's Big Mouth Panniers today, as well. For when I go to the supermarket. I expect the same quality.
This Tern with it's accessories is becoming my second car, in perpetual-Florida summer. And when we go down to Key West, or elsewhere, I put my S8i in the car and ride it when we get down there. I still use my road bike for rides of 100+ miles, but the Tern, with these great bags and its city savy, has become my daily local ride.
