Protection like this is absolutely essential in a world where summers are growing hotter and hotter. Long ago I realized that I didn’t want my daughter exposed to the sun for extended periods on our rides. She has a tendency to overheat quickly. But already having experience with the storm shield I knew that I would have to spring for this summer protection too.

It’s a great piece of equipment. It’s well built, with super sturdy construction and collapsing tent pole type supports. It is easy to install or remove and store. It secures itself similarly to the clubhouse, but unlike the storm shield it doesn’t secure to the front of the clubhouse due to a lack of Velcro landing strips on the front of the sun shade. I may just break out my sewing machine and add my own.

I wish the flaps had two securing point each, instead of one right in the middle. I understand that it would increase the time to stow/deploy, but I still think it would be worth it. I'm considering sewing or gluing little magnets into mine to see if that would hold it up. Second, it's a shame that access to the water bottle mounts on the front of the Clubhouse are now covered.
Finally, I'm surprised how much it pushes into my spine as I ride. It's more of a minor annoyance than a dealbreaker, but it does provide constant pressure on my back at all times.
